This Privacy Policy explains how Our Kinds Pty Ltd (ABN 21 653 006 038) (“Our Kinds”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information in connection with our website at ourkinds.com.au and the services we offer to cafés, councils, corporates and consumers.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What information we collect
We collect personal information that you provide directly to us, including when you:
- subscribe to our newsletter (email address);
- submit our contact form (the category you select, plus any contact details and message you provide);
- complete our café subscription survey (your name, business name, role, contact details, and information about your café);
- correspond with us by email or social media;
- attend an event or workshop we run or partner on.
We also automatically collect limited technical information when you visit our website, including your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referring URL, and the date and time of your visit. We use cookies and similar technologies for site functionality and analytics.
We do not deliberately collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act). Please do not send us sensitive information through our forms.
Why we collect it and how we use it
We use personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry or application;
- assess whether Our Kinds is a fit for your café, organisation or council;
- send you the newsletter you've subscribed to, and let you unsubscribe at any time;
- deliver, support and improve our services;
- report on the impact of the Reuserism Operating System to our community, partners and funders, using non-identifying aggregate data;
- meet our legal, regulatory and contractual obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it's necessary, including with:
- our staff, advisors and contractors who help us deliver our services, on a need-to-know basis;
- service providers that host our website, run our forms, send our newsletter and provide analytics (these providers may store data outside Australia — see “Overseas disclosure” below);
- partner cafés, councils or organisations where you've contacted us about working with them, and only with your consent;
- any party we're required to share information with by law or to protect our rights and safety.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers (for example email and analytics platforms) store data outside Australia, typically in the United States or the European Union. By using our site or submitting our forms you consent to your personal information being transferred to and stored in those locations. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
