For councils

Ready for the Plastics Plan? We've already done it once.

We partner with councils on the operational reality of phasing out single-use cups — cup libraries, café training, communication, measurement. Not as a vendor, but as a partner to your community.

What we bring

A partnership, not a procurement.

  • Cup libraries across your LGA

Stand up a precinct-scale cup library so cafés don't carry inventory or risk alone.

  • Café training and onboarding

We bring participating cafés through the transition — operationally and behaviourally.

  • Communication support

Social and mainstream media collateral, signage, and a launch plan for residents.

  • Measurement and reporting

Non-personalised data on cup movement, ready for community reporting and grant acquittal.

Case study

EMRC × Our Kinds: the Global Cup Libraries Project.

The Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council (EMRC) partnered with Our Kinds ahead of WA's plastic ban stage two to launch the Global Cup Libraries project. The first participating café was White's Mill and Grind in Mundaring.

Cafés across EMRC's jurisdiction receive support — staff training, social media assistance, and the communication toolkit — so they can talk to customers about reuse with confidence.

A standout feature is the regenerative-economy approach. A strategic collaboration with Good Sammy Enterprises repurposes second-hand cups at scale, creating opportunities for disability employment alongside waste reduction.

A collective commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable living — councils, cafés, and community, all moving together.
